How do I prepare a manuscript for submission?

How do I submit my article?

Please submit your article online through Editorial Manager. Please click “Submit Your Manuscript” on the journal's homepage and follow the instructions.

What should I do if I am asked to revise my manuscript?

Authors may be asked to revise at various stages of the review process. If the manuscript does not follow the journal guidelines but may be of interest for publication, it will be returned to be revised and resubmitted. Following the review process, authors may also be asked to revise the manuscript based on comments from the reviewers and Editorial Board Members. This process may happen a number of times until a decision is reached.

What happens after my article has been accepted?

The manuscript files will be dealt with by the editorial and production team. The manuscript will undergo editing, and you (being the corresponding author) will stay in touch with us through email. You may be asked to answer queries on the manuscript or provide new images and any delay to responding to these requests is likely to result in a delay in publishing your article. Once the article has been assigned to a journal issue, you will be sent a proof for approval.

How can I found out the status of my manuscript?

How long does it take to receive a decision?

The OMJ aims to give the first decision on any manuscript within three months of submission.

How much does it cost to publish in the OMJ?

Publishing an article is free of charge.

How can I become a reviewer for the OMJ?

You can register your interest by creating an account on Editorial Manager and including information about your research interests and specialties. Alternatively, email us at [email protected] with the relevant information.

How do I claim my CME points after reviewing a paper?

Please email the editorial office at [email protected] with the name of your article and/or review paper.

How many CME points do I get as an author?

The first author and corresponding author receive 5 CME credits per publication. The second author receives 3 credits and the third author and beyond receives 2 credits per publication.

What exactly is Online First?

The Online First section of the website lets users access peer reviewed articles before print publication. These articles are searchable and citable by their DOI (Digital Object Identifier).

I am an invited author. How do I submit my manuscript when I have completed writing it?

Invited authors should submit their manuscript via Editorial Manager. Please click “Submit Your Manuscript” on the journal's homepage and follow the instructions. You will need to set up an account if you do not already have one.
